What is Pilates? Why do it?
WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is an innovative and safe system of movements that improves posture, creates body awareness and increases core strength and flexibility. Our core is made up of a series of muscles that when strengthened and properly utilized, can make everyday movements more efficient. By moving more efficiently, posture becomes noticeably better, endurance is increased, and injuries are reduced.
With regular practice of Pilates, individuals of all physical conditions have claimed better posture, more flexibility, leaner and more shapely muscles, better athletic endurance, and acute body awareness. Pilates is wonderfully modifiable and can be done during and after pregnancy as well as post injury and surgery. Pilates is also been proven to be an effective work out for even the most extreme athlete. Over time, Pilates creates a body that is better aligned, more toned and noticeably transformed.
